Michelmores is based in Exeter with a London office and another specialising in private client in Sidmouth. Our clients range from the individual to small to medium sized partnerships and companies to multi-national PLC companies and substantial public sector clients. We are a regional heavyweight with significant and substantial clients based within the South-West. In addition, we have many clients who are based outside the South West and indeed outside the UK.

The firm represents companies and individuals regionally and throughout the UK, with an increasing number of international instructions. We have a substantial and diverse client base with both private and public sector clients The firm’s expertise in a number of areas is recognised in Chambers/ Legal 500.

At all times, we are client focused and strive to exceed our clients’ expectations. Our work ranges from working closely with private individuals to deal with their personal affairs such as inheritance tax planning and residential conveyancing to working with a range of worldwide lawyers on multi-million dollar, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes and from preparing the contract documentation for building a new court or hospital to acting for a leading US satellite operator in recovering monies for breach of contracts against various parties worldwide.

Trainees at Michelmores are given the opportunity of working with clients throughout their training. They will achieve valuable experience during their training contract and a solid grounding for their future career. Each trainee is allowed (and encouraged) to be themselves and shape their training within a supervised environment. The calibre of clients and the standard of work in each department allows trainees to identify those areas of law and the type of work that they wish to qualify into and specialise in.
