If Michelmores were a famous person, it would be Emily Blunt: 'a rising star who shines brighter with each performance', according to the Lex 100, the insider's guide for students on what it's really like to train at a UK law firm.
The guide surveys trainees at 130 leading law firms each year to ask for their honest views of their firm. The results for this year see Michelmores classed as a Lex 100 Winner in two categories, including Client Contact. In addition, comments from trainees were very positive, with the breadth of training on offer, greater autonomy, receptiveness to innovative ideas and a less stressful environment than your average law firm all cited as key strengths.
Trainees' best moments at the firm included 'managing my own files at a very early stage', 'every client meeting that I have attended, as I get to play a reasonably active role' and 'my six-month, part-time secondment to the Met Office'.
Other highlights for trainees are 'some very impressive lawyers', the 'beautiful location, quality work' and the fact that 'people smile on a daily basis'.
